    Our family goal should be to search for the realization of an ideal society, knowing it is a quest that always eludes man but one that he must compulsively seek. The fourth generation believes in justice, equality, freedom, and a sustainable future for all people, and seek to be leaders who focus on grantmaking that builds opportunity and creates lasting impact.

    Funded Initiatives

    J.M.K. Innovation Prize awards $175,000 over three years to early-stage projects in heritage conservation, environment, and social justice; Furthermore grants in publishing supporting nonfiction books concerning arts, history, and natural and built environment; discretionary grants to organizations identified by individual trustees; 2025 Innovation Prize cycle partnerships with The 1772 Foundation, Burnham Family Foundation, and Trinity Church NYC.

    How to Apply

    First-round applications to the 2025 J.M.K. Innovation Prize accepted from February 11-April 25, 2025. Applications available in Spanish. Innovation Prize for early-stage projects with transformative potential in heritage conservation, environment, and social justice. $175,000 funding over three years plus organizational development coaching. Most awardees are organizations active for less than five years with annual budgets under $500,000.
