The Charles H. Revson Foundation strives to expand knowledge, advance democratic values, and pursue the public good. Through grants and fellowships in Biomedical Research, Education, Jewish Life, and Urban Affairs, we invest in a vibrant civic society that can meet the material, social, and spiritual needs of diverse communities, primarily in New York City and Israel.
NYC Interorganizational Lifeguard Task Force (YMCA of Greater New York, seed funding since 2023); Open Hearts Initiative (four years of support for housing advocacy); THE CITY nonprofit news organization establishment; Youth Journalism Coalition programs at 30 high schools; Lisa Goldberg/Revson Foundation Scholars program for diverse journalism students; CUNY Hillels for Jewish undergraduate population; biomedical research fellowships
The Foundation accepts letters of inquiry from prospective grantees via their online portal, Foundant. They do not accept inquiries through email, mail, or phone. If your proposal seems appropriate for follow-up in light of their guidelines and priorities, they will contact you within two weeks. Due to the volume of inquiries, they are unable to respond to each letter individually. An extremely small percentage of Foundation's grants originate from letters of inquiry.
Does not fund endowments, capital or building campaigns, fundraising dinners, or films. Cannot support individuals directly; Revson fellowships are awarded and administered by sponsoring institutions. Works mainly in New York City and Israel. Grantseekers outside of the New York City area will want to look elsewhere.
