THE CARMEL HILL FUND

To promote 21st century literacy and foster a love of reading, particularly among at-risk youth in inner cities. The Carmel Hill Fund is focused on helping young people, especially those growing up in vulnerable circumstances, become voracious readers who also have the skills, relationships, nurturing environments, and supports to become emotionally thriving adults.

NYC Reads Initiative combining collective effort with East Harlem, East New York, and South Jamaica communities to create culture of literacy. Brain & Behavior Research Foundation grants for mental illness research advances. Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund with Omidyar Network providing $2 million to 26 organizations (2023). Over 50 schools in NYC, 27 schools in North Louisiana, serving 600+ educators and 10,000+ students.
