    The Coleman Foundation invests in the efforts of community-based organizations and local institutions to preserve and strengthen the physical health and the economic and emotional well-being of people living in the greater Chicago region. The Foundation will create more compassionate, equitable and inclusive resources and opportunities that improve people's lives with thoughtful and sustainable solutions.

    Funded Initiatives

    This year implementing new strategies for three program areas: Entrepreneurship, Health, and Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, making approximately 100 grants totaling $9 million. In 2022 provided nearly $10 million in grants to 168 organizations. Announced $5+ million in grant awards in first half of 2024, including organizations like Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Chicago Urban League. Proudly announced first round of 2025 grants in Entrepreneurship and IDD with 31 grantees.

    Not accepting unsolicited funding requests, including letters of inquiry, until further notice. Grant requests are by invitation only.
