The Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for all people in Emmet County by connecting donors with community needs; building a permanent source of charitable funds to serve our area; addressing a broad range of community issues through innovative grantmaking; championing philanthropy and active citizenship.

Since starting thirty years ago, distributed over $34 million in grants. Focus areas include affordable housing, child care solutions, local food initiatives, clean energy initiatives, Emergency Response Fund Grants and Home Repair Assistance.
Grant application process starts with email to grants@phsacf.org to discuss proposed project. Complete grant application online including organization's budget, board of directors list. Applications submitted through online portal by 11:59 PM deadline. Grant cycles: February 1 (Little Traverse Bay Protection), March 1 (Community and Youth), October 1 (Community and Youth). Board generally does not consider requests in excess of $15,000, annual fund-raising drives, services commonly recognized as government or school obligations, debt reduction, endowments, religious programs that advocate specific religious doctrines or do not serve broader community, grants to individuals (other than scholarships).
