    The Robert F. Schumann Foundation was established by Mr. Schumann to improve the quality of life of both humans and animals by supporting environmental, educational, arts and cultural organizations and agencies. Founded on beliefs that the environment is essential to sustain the future of the planet, that education is essential to solve many quality of life issues for society, and that arts and cultural programs offer society hope and the ability to dream.

    Applications accepted year-round but must be submitted by February 28 to be reviewed at annual grant meeting. Grant decisions generally communicated by June. Progress report required by July 31 following year after receiving funds. Foundation managed through Wells Fargo Private Foundation Services. Must be 501(c)(3) exempt organization.

    Does Not Fund

    Foundation typically does not fund general operations, prefers projects that would not have been pursued without foundation support, geographic preference for Northeast Mid-Atlantic East Coast regions though no hard geographic limitations
