The Sherman Family Foundation invests in nonprofits that serve vulnerable young people who are the hardest to reach, with the greatest obstacles to overcome on their way to leading a productive adult life. Today, Betsy leads the foundation with the vision of improving the lives of young people by prioritizing investments in early childhood and promoting supports for children, youth, and families.
The foundation focuses on expanding early learning that is affordable, accessible, and high quality; infant and maternal health and family supports; efforts to improve outcomes in schools in literacy and mathematics achievement and promote teacher pipelines; opportunities in STEM and the arts, as well as longitudinal youth programs; support for children and families that make opportunity possible.
Applications are by invitation only. Organizations may submit a letter of inquiry to the foundation or be invited by program staff to apply directly. Contact program staff at grants@shermanfamfdn.org. Must be 501(c)3 organizations with focus in Baltimore City.
