    The Kosasa Foundation is committed to nurturing a sustainable natural environment where communities can thrive, and where younger generations have the support they need to preserve Hawaiʻi's legacy while building a brighter future. The foundation invests in efforts to educate and engage communities in activities that promote the stewardship of natural resources, and supports programs that are critical to the development of the most vulnerable youth, from their earliest years into young adulthood.

    Funded Initiatives

Recent grants include $200,000 to INPEACE for Community Hub creation, and $1 million Creative Capacity program for arts and culture nonprofits. Focus areas include environmental stewardship, opportunity youth programs, and creative capacity building for arts organizations.

    How to Apply

    Interested organizations must first complete the Prospective Grantee Questionnaire. If the project/program is potentially aligned with priority areas, organization will receive a link to the application portal. Three main programs: Creative Capacity (grants up to $100,000, deadline April 25, 2025), Community-Based Environmental Stewardship (deadline August 8, 2025), and Opportunity Youth (ages 16-24, deadline October 24, 2025). Supports 501(c)3 nonprofits working in Hawaiʻi.
