Welcome to SciRise, Inc. ("SciRise," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the SciRise cloud-based software platform ("Service"), you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
SciRise provides a mission-driven capital intelligence platform for nonprofits, foundations, consultants, impact investors, universities, and other mission-driven organizations. The Service analyzes public funding records, including IRS 990 and 990-PF filings, federal award and contract records, and international aid records, to help organizations understand funding landscapes, identify and evaluate funders, benchmark against peers, and strengthen capital strategy. The platform includes programmatic funding network analysis, peer benchmarking, funder and recipient intelligence, analysis deliverables, and collaborative features for organizational teams.
You may need to register for an account to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate and complete registration information and to maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach of your account.
The Service is built on publicly available data, including IRS tax filings (Forms 990 and 990-PF), federal award and contract records published by the U.S. government, international aid records published under the IATI reporting standard, and related audit and disclosure data. SciRise processes this data through entity resolution, network analysis, and statistical modeling to generate funder recommendations, benchmarks, and analyses.
Certain features of the Service use artificial intelligence provided by third-party AI services (currently OpenAI). Principally, AI is used for narrative synthesis: generating the memos, summaries, and explanatory text that accompany analyses and deliverables. The underlying figures, rankings, and benchmarks are computed programmatically from the data described in Section 4; AI is used to express those computed results in narrative form.
When AI-powered features run, relevant context (such as your organization's name, your analysis selections, and the computed results being summarized) is sent to our AI service provider for processing. AI-generated outputs are informational and may contain errors. You should independently verify AI-generated information before relying on it for funding decisions. SciRise does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.
Integrations You Authorize: The Service supports optional connections to third-party applications, including AI assistants (such as Anthropic's Claude), that you may link to your SciRise account. If you authorize an integration, the account information you approve on the consent screen and the data you request through that application are shared with the third party, and its own terms and privacy policy govern its use of that data. You may disconnect an authorized integration at any time.
The Service offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
You may create content through the Service, including notes on funders, portfolio selections, workspaces, curated analyses and deliverable content, custom opportunities, funder assignments, and feedback on recommendations ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant SciRise a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service to you and your organization. Upon account deletion, your User Content will be removed in accordance with our data retention practices described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree to use the Service only for your organization's internal purposes, in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service are owned by SciRise, Inc. or its licensors. This includes, without limitation:
While the underlying tax filings and government records are public, SciRise's processing, structuring, entity resolution, network modeling, and analytical outputs represent substantial original work and are proprietary to SciRise, Inc. SciRise's funding-graph technology is the subject of one or more pending patent applications.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your organization's internal purposes as permitted under these Terms. This license does not convey any ownership interest in the Service or its data. Any unauthorized use of the Service's proprietary data, algorithms, or outputs may result in immediate termination of your account.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SciRise, Inc. and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SciRise, Inc. from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful.
